I learned on the tips and techniques section that student grade paints are preferred in this type of loose painting. I have accumulated a lot of paint — all artist grade. Would it be best to mix with more water to dilute the pigment for artist grade to ‘act’ more like student grade? Thanks for suggestions. Diana

Hi my main reason for student grade paints are because they have less pigment which allow them to blend and mix more freely, l do use a few artist quality ones too. I would give the Artist ones as you say more water and test them out on spare paper to get used to the strength you need
