What is the difference between the levels ? I am a relative beginner if I went to an intermediate tutorial would it involve yet unchartered techniques?

It’s up to you. If you find a tutorial that you want to try at a level that’s not beginners, by all means give it a go. You might find subjects that suit your style and hence make it more attractive and get good results. However, in the end it’s all trial and error. That’s how we all learn 🙂
