Hello everyone, and welcome back to another week of loose watercolour fun! It’s Halloween tomorrow – how has that come about so quickly? Regardless of the speed in which the months seem to be flying by, it’s spooky season this week, which means that the perfect painting subjects are here – cute black cats, pumpkins, and falling leaves. And soon after that, Christmas is rolling around again, where snow covered landscapes abound.
It was lovely to see you all at this week’s live broadcast, which was ‘Autumn Bridge’ – we’re well and truly into autumn now, so it’s the perfect excuse to use all of your orange and red tones hidden away at the back of the paintbox. Live broadcasts are usually on a Monday night around 8pm, so be sure to keep an eye out here if you want to join in: https://www.youtube.com/@AndrewGeesonloosewatercolours/streams
That’s not all this week, as there’s also a new tutorial over on Patreon if Christmas is your preferred holiday. ‘Xmas Bauble’ is available now for all of your Christmas-themed crafts – they’d make a lovely little addition to any cards and presents this year! You can find them by following the link here: https://www.patreon.com/cw/andrewgeesonloosewatercolours
In terms of my own painting this week, I’ve been enjoying the beautiful colours blossoming around the village, which led to this little painting that I’ve called ‘Forest Glow.’ What do you think? I quite like it, I’ve decided.
Would you like some more painting practice this week? Well then, you’re in luck, as there’s a free tutorial just below, ‘Autumn Leaves.’ Perfect for any seasonal crafts you’ve got planned!
If you want to improve your painting, you might want to consider upgrading to a set of Loose Gang brushes. After all, gifting season is right around the corner, and a paintbrush set might be the perfect gift for you or any other budding artists in your life. If so, you can find them by following the link here: https://loosewatercolours.com/product-category/loose-gang
It’s been so chilly this week that Toby and I have been thinking back to warmer days earlier this summer, especially as we’re in the midst of a cold snap right now. Toby in particular was enjoying the summer sun.
That’s all from me just now, as I’m off to put the heating on before I start to see my own breath. That, and stick the kettle on, as always. As always though, this week there’s an exclusive tutorial available especially for all of you lovely paid subscribers – after all, it’s your support that helps keep this Substack running! So I hope you all enjoy painting along to ‘Loose Christmas Tree’ – and you can get a headstart on all the handmade Christmas cards this year!
Toby and I will be back in your inboxes very soon, but until next time, it’s goodbye from us both. Have a lovely week, and happy painting!
