I have the same question. What are color equivalent from Winsor Newton professional and Cotman?

Hi, the names are the same. However, not all colors are available. Andrew uses professional grade when the color he wants doesn’t exist in the Cotman series. Hence the (a) to indicate “artist” which is only available in the professional range. Also, intense blue stands for phthalo blue. Cotman has only 40 colors. I’m a beginner and I find that one little exercise such as painting a robin, requires more than 10 colors. Andrew believes that Cotmans are easier to control for novices than the professional grade which contains a lot more pigment. Then we can switch back to professional or upgrade if we don’t have any.
