Colder nights

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another week of loose watercolour fun! The year is starting to gently wind to a close now, which means it’s time to rest, reset, and maybe even get round to a spot of painting. A moment of peace and quiet just before Christmas really gets underway.

It was lovely to see you all at this week’s live broadcast, which was ‘Snowman Time’ – and I’m sure the snow is just around the corner. Live broadcasts are usually on a Monday night around 8pm, so be sure to keep an eye out here if you want to join in: https://www.youtube.com/@AndrewGeesonloosewatercolours/streams

I really enjoyed seeing all of your versions of last week’s live broadcast, ‘Robin’s Snack.’ So much so that I thought I’d give you all a showcase of some of your fabulous work! Let me know if you can spot your painting below.

That’s not all this week, as there’s also a new tutorial over on Patreon, ‘Acorn Days.’ If Christmas is coming a little bit too fast for your liking, why not take a look back to autumn and some of its more seasonal delights? You can find it by following the link here: https://www.patreon.com/cw/andrewgeesonloosewatercolours

And if you want more painting practice this week, then you’re in for a treat. Give this free ‘Quick Floral’ tutorial a go below to have some flowery fun.

In terms of my own painting this week, I’ve been looking forward to December and practicing some robins this week. After all, I’ve got some Christmas cards to make!

A Christmas robin.

If you want to improve your painting, you might want to consider upgrading to a set of Loose Gang brushes. After all, we’re getting into gift-giving season just now, and a paintbrush set might be the perfect gift for you or any other budding artists in your life. If so, you can find them by following the link here: https://loosewatercolours.com/product-category/loose-gang

It’s been so chilly this week that Toby’s taken a trip to St. Bernard’s Abbey for a spot of spirituality (and a carrot, of course)!

A quick day trip for Toby the dog.

That’s all from me just now, as I’m just about to go and put the heating on. Winter is well and truly setting in now, and you can really feel it over here in the studio. As always though, this week there’s an exclusive tutorial available especially for all of you lovely paid subscribers – after all, it’s your support that helps keep this Substack running! So I hope you all enjoy painting along to ‘Skating in the City.’

托比和我很快就会回到你们的收件箱里,但在下次见面之前,我们俩先说再见了。祝你们一周愉快,画画愉快!
