Hello everyone, and welcome back to this week’s edition of Loose Watercolours! How have you been? Good, I hope. It seems like I’ve blinked, and the entire month of September has slipped by. How’s your week been? How’s your month been? Whatever you’ve been up to, I hope you’ve found a little time to relax and enjoy all that the season brings.
It was so lovely to see you all at last week’s live broadcast, ‘Autumn Sunset.’ Thanks for joining me! As always, our live broadcasts take place on Monday evenings at 8pm (GMT), and you can join us through either Loose Watercolours or Patreon, as I stream to both platforms simultaneously. So, just pick whichever is most convenient for you, grab your paints and join me for an evening of relaxed watercolour painting.
And if you’re looking for some lovely loose watercolour inspiration, why not take a look at last week’s broadcast? Below, you’ll find a beautiful gallery showcasing just some of your versions of ‘Purple Blast.’ Let me know if you can spot yours, and click here to enjoy some more.
With it being well and truly autumn now, it’s the perfect time to dig those deep orange and red shades out of your art supplies. And perfect timing! There’s a new tutorial over on Patreon for you, which this week is titled ‘Autumn Leaves.’ If you’d like to paint along, you can find the link here: https://www.patreon.com/cw/andrewgeesonloosewatercolours
And that’s not all. There’s another Patreon tutorial this week, ‘Pumpkin Table,’ is available for you to try if you want to rekindle some of the magic of seasons past.
And of course, why not reminisce over the best days of summer with this free tutorial just below? ‘Fast Florals’ is a lovely little floral number, so just watch the video a few times to get the gist of the method, then feel free to give it a go yourselves!
I’ve been trying to grab the last of the sunlight to practice some plein air before the sunlight slips away for the rest of the year. This week’s destination? Burghley House and gardens on a pleasant Sunday afternoon. Here’s a quick peek at what I got up to.
And here’s the finished picture! As always, I’d be interested to know what you think.
If you fancy a new set of watercolour brushes, why not treat yourselves to your very own Loose Gang set? You can find them by following the link just here: https://www.patreon.com/andrewgeesonloosewatercolours/shop/loose-gang-brush-set-28089?source=storefront
That’s all from me this week! The nights are slowly drawing in, and there’s something of a crisp chill in the air these days. Which means it’s time to wrap up warm when it’s time for Toby to go on a walk around the village. As always, there’s an exclusive tutorial waiting especially for all you lovely paid subscribers. Your generous support helps keep this Substack going, and I’m so very grateful for each and every one of you! This week’s tutorial is ‘Peter the Pumpkin’ so I hope you enjoy painting along with me.
Likewise, I also want to introduce another treat for all of you lovely subscribers. There are many of you who generously support this Substack, and some of you subscribe on a yearly basis.
