Живопись достопримечательностей

Hi everyone, and welcome back to another week of loose watercolour fun! It’s been a busy week in the studio over here at HQ, and that’s because I’ve been getting ready for the loose watercolour painting holiday down in Wells, Somerset, and that means I’ve got some packing to finish!

I wasn’t too busy to practice painting last week with the live broadcast though, and this time, the subject was ‘Bunny Sunset.’ You know autumn is setting in when you can paint some lovely little rabbits at sundown!

In terms of other paintings this week, there’s a new tutorial available now if you want to improve your own painting skills. ‘Peony Summer’ is a simple little flower, perfect for if you’re a beginner to the loose style and want to practice painting with beautiful bright tones.

And that’s not all! If you fancy some more seasonal fun, there’s also a new tutorial available over on Patreon in the line and wash style – ‘Two Good Apples.’ If just thinking about it is making your mouth water as much as mine, you can paint along here: https://www.patreon.com/andrewgeesonloosewatercolours

In my painting this week, I was thinking about different ways of making my painting lighter, and came across this easy technique! Framing the subject with a back light against a window! So of course I had to give it a go with some quick flowers in the loose style, which, if I do say so myself, turned out quite well. You should definitely think about introducing it to your own work!

This week, I thought we’d also take more of an in-depth look at colour use in our painting as part of the continuing Tips and Techniques series. After all, it’s something we use every time we pick up our brush! So watch along with the tutorial below to get a better understanding of the colours we use and why we use them.

And if you want to put those hard-earned skills to the test, try your hand at this week’s free tutorial. The subject? ‘Single Loose Floral,’ a beautifully delicate little flower for you all to paint along with. I can’t wait to see how you all get on!

That’s all from me this week, as I’ve got to go and finish packing for this painting trip – after all, I’m off to an early start tomorrow, and it’s a long way to go! As always, though, there’s an exclusive tutorial included at the end of this Substack for all of you paid subscribers, as a special thank you for all of your support. I hope you all enjoy painting along to ‘Into the Fuchsia!’

Мы с Тоби очень скоро вернемся в ваши почтовые ящики, но до следующего раза прощайте от нас обоих. Хорошей вам недели и счастливого рисования!

‘Into the Fuchsia.’
