Hello everyone, and welcome back to another week of loose watercolours! We’ve had slightly better weather this week, so I’ve been out and about painting this week. Toby’s been enjoying the sunshine as well – I keep spotting him sunbathing all over the house. How’s your week been? Good, I hope! Did you get any painting done? Did you have fun? If you did, that’s fantastic news! And if not, don’t worry, as there’s always tomorrow.

We’re back from the brief interlude in live broadcasts, and it was lovely to see so many of you at last week’s broadcast. We painted along to ‘Summer Fields,’ which is a regular sight in the village now that the weather’s changed again. If you missed it, don’t worry, as you can watch the broadcast back on lossekleuren.com.

I found myself down in Hereford last week, so of course, you can bet I got some painting practice in. Here’s a quick painting of the Hereford Cathedral Quadrant on a rainy day, ‘Rainy Days of Summer.’

I also got up to a little amateur photography outside the cathedral, and I took these little shots of some chrysanthemums in the shade. I’ve been thinking about turning this into a little tutorial, but what do you think? Is this something you’d want to paint? Let me know.

And of course, I’ve been up to all sorts of watercolour practice this week, and as with everything else, practice makes perfect!

As a summer surprise this week, I thought I’d include a free tutorial this week, ‘Tankard of Florals.’ I hope you all enjoy painting along, and I look forward to seeing all of your different versions!

And I’m afraid that’s all we’ve got time for this week, as Toby’s got a summer haircut scheduled this afternoon, so he’s off to the dog groomers! He always enjoys a trim this time of year, as it lets him see where he’s going when he’s running around in the grass. As always, though, there’s an exclusive extra tutorial at the end of this post for all of you paid subscribers, as an enormous thank you for all of your generous support. This week’s subject is ‘Ballerina Girl,’ and we’re practicing the Line & Wash style this week.

Until next time, though, it’s goodbye from Toby and I, and we’ll be back in your inboxes very soon. In the meantime, have a lovely week, and happy painting!

‘Ballerina Girl.’
